Scarlett Way parking area closed.

The railroad has closed off the Scarlett Way parking area due to track maintenance work. Anglers can use the Prospect Ave. parking area.

NEWS FLASH

CA-DFG has resumed stocking on the Upper Sacramento River.

First stocking of the year was done yesterday 8/10/2010.

The fish have been growing all summer in the Mt Shasta hatchery so they are very nice size.

Flows on Upper Sac are strong, but fishable (864cfs this AM). Nymphing good, but dry fly fishing generally very good. Have gotten good reports from Castella and upstream. Anyone contemplating a trip to these parts should consider that the lower the flows get on this river, the more wary the fish will become. Low flows and dumb fish at the same time are probably too much to ask for this season.

Things are improving on the Lower McCloud are improving. Traffic on the long week-end was pretty light.
